The Skybound Traveler

Daniel McNeil grew up in rural New England, exploring the forests and crags of the White Mountains. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in religious studies and English. For over twenty years, Daniel has lived in eastern Utah, where he writes, teaches mindfulness, directs a youth mentoring program, and rock climbs at every turn. He collaborated with muralist and AMGA-certified climbing guide Peggy Flavin to create The Skybound Traveler Climbing Spirit Deck & Guidebook, which draws on the many metaphors of the vertical world.

Peggy Flavin is an artist and muralist based in Utah. She transforms spaces through her artwork while celebrating the stories and places that inspire her. Her work explores themes of sustainability, nature, and community interaction with art in public spaces.

In addition to her art practice, Peggy is a professional mountain guide, leading technical climbing ascents in places like Denali, the Tetons, and the deserts of Utah and Nevada. She draws inspiration from extended time spent on glaciers, surrounded by sandstone, and living in the wilderness. Her work can be found in unique venues, from indoor climbing walls to solar panel arrays, as she explores the intersection of art and nature.
