The New York Lenormand
The New York Lenormand is Robert M. Place’s recreation of a historic Lenormand oracle with correlations with the appropriate Tarot card at the top.
Lenormand decks are one of the most popular divination or oracle decks. They were first published in Germany in 1847 and are based on German playing card decks.
The deck is a recreation of The Mystic Cards of Fortune, a Lenormand oracle deck published by McLoughlin in New York in 1882. It is based on one of the oldest German Lenormand decks, the Hoffmann and Kroppenstedt cards, published in Berlin in 1854. Each card was redrawn, but followed the original closely with some changes. For example, the Ship card depicts an American brig flying the American Flag instead of a German ship.
The cards have square edges and a plain white back. The deck does not include a box. It comes with a linen drawstring bag. The bag you receive may be different from what is shown in the photos.
