The Gentle Tarot Full-Size Guidebook has 336 color pages in a flexibound cover with gold stamping. Compared to the digital PDF guidebook that comes with the Linen and Pocket editions, the Full-Size Guidebook is an evolution of the Gentle Tarot that enriches the experience of working with the decks through new tools for grounding and healing.

The guidebook includes new art, chapters on connecting with your intuition and numerology, an Opening and Closing Intention, and new card spreads. Every card description includes an affirmation or mantra, Upright, Reversed, and Art Symbolism sections, and a full page of color artwork.

The Guidebook is meant to complement the Gentle Tarot experience and can also be used as a stand-alone tool with bibliomancy practices (flip and choose a page randomly).

Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar

The Gentle Tarot was created by Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar and published by her independent publishing house, Mari in the Sky. Mari's Indigenous roots are Chichimeca and Wixárika from Zacatecas, Central México. She is an Anchorage Museum Residency Fellow and a Rasmuson Foundation grant recipient. The Alaska Humanities Forum has featured her art. She is currently based in Homer, Alaska.

Mari’s art was created on and inspired by the lands of indigenous nations in three regions of Alaska: the lands of the Unangax̂ in Iluulux̂ (Unalaska) in the Aleutian Islands, the lands of the Sun’aq on Kodiak Island; and the Sugpiaq, Dena’ina, and the Ninilchik Village Tribe between the Kenai peninsula and Anchorage. Mari got to know these remote regions of Alaska over the course of eight years, while working for the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska Island and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Kodiak, Sand Point, and Dutch Harbor.

Even if you’re unfamiliar with The Gentle Tarot, the guidebook can be used separately or along with your own deck for an even deeper understanding of each card. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and I’m a lifelong fan of Mari’s work.
