Mira Nurdianti

Mira Nurdianti was born in Indonesia. Her parents and extended family raised her in Javanese tradition, teaching her the Javanese ways, beliefs, and philosophy, and celebrating every milestone in her life through slametan. At this feast, food rich in symbolism is served.

Working mainly with fine liners, Mira's illustrations serve as a diary in which she shares her thoughts and appreciation for life. She hopes to connect with others and for them to conjure strength from within, like a talisman.

She lives in Sydney, Australia, where she runs Melancholy Memento, an online gallery and store featuring her artwork inspired by femininity, lore, melancholia, and witchcraft.
