Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck Small features 78 cards painted by Lady Frieda Harris according to instructions from the occult scholar, Aleister Crowley, in a handy small size.

The magnificent art deco work contains kabbalistic and astrological attributions described in Aleister Crowley’s Book of Thoth. The art deco artwork of the Thoth is rich in Egyptian symbolism. To each of the twenty-two Major Trumps of the tarot is assigned, by tradition, a Hebrew letter and a path on the Tree of Life, as well as an astrological sign, element, or planet. The deck also reflects Crowley’s interest in alchemy and magic.

The original Crowley Thoth Tarot has attracted a worldwide following for its striking beauty and complex depiction of occult knowledge. Since its initial publication in 1969, the deck has never been out of print. It includes a guidebook containing two essays by Lady Frieda Harris and a commentary by Stuart R. Kaplan.

Lady Frieda Harris

Lady Frieda Harris (1877–1962), born Marguerite Frieda Bloxam in London, was a British artist and occultist renowned for illustrating Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot deck. In 1937, at the age of 60, she met Crowley and embarked on the Thoth Tarot project, dedicating over five years to creating the deck.

Lady Frieda was involved in various esoteric circles and was a member of the Ordo Templi Orientis. After her husband died in 1952, she moved to India, where she continued her artistic and mystical pursuits until her death in Srinagar in 1962. She bequeathed her original Thoth Tarot paintings to Gerald Yorke, who placed them at the Warburg Institute in London.

Aleister Crowley

Aleister Crowley (1875 – 1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, novelist, and mountaineer. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, he left without a degree but pursued interests in mountaineering and poetry. In 1898, he joined the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, an esoteric society focused on ceremonial magic. Aleister later traveled extensively, studying Eastern religious practices and developing his own spiritual philosophy.

In 1904, during a stay in Cairo, Aleister claimed to have received a text titled The Book of the Law, dictated by a non-corporeal entity named Aiwass. This text became the foundation of Thelema, a religious philosophy centered on the principle: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." Aleister established several organizations to promote Thelema, including the A∴A∴ and the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.). Despite controversy over his lifestyle and beliefs, Crowley's work has had a lasting influence on modern occultism and esoteric thought.
