Hi. We are Krisztin Kondor and William Rader, the founders of Artisan Tarot.
I (William Rader) have been giving readings for the past 10 years. My first deck was the Nicolas Conver Tarot. After many years of trying to find the perfect restoration, I partnered with Hungarian artist Krisztin Kondor to create our own deck.
Krisztin has a Master's degree in Product Design and Graphic Design. She also specializes in linocut printmaking, which uses a similar method to how the original tarot cards were produced. This gives her unique insight into how to digitally restore the artwork.
We worked together remotely via Zoom for two years while we restored the Nicolas Conver Tarot. It was challenging because of the seven-hour time zone difference. Every day, we would stay up very late researching and refining our work. Due to the success of this deck, we began restoring other historic tarot decks.
In August, I traveled to Hungary to work with Krisztin to finish our Jean Noblet Tarot deck. This was our first time meeting! We quickly hit it off and found it much faster to work together in person (duh). That’s why, in a week, she will be joining me in Denver, CO.
Outside of tarot, we enjoy yoga, cooking, hiking, and rock climbing. While Krisztin is in Denver, we look forward to heading to the mountains and climbing outside. We promise to be safe!
We will also collaborate to release four more tarot decks over the next few months. The decks are complete, and we are now revising the images. We will share a project timeline for these decks soon, so stay tuned.
