Linocut Print of Force from the Jean Dodal Tarot

Linocut Print of Force from the Jean Dodal Tarot

We are excited to share our new linocut print of Force from the Jean Dodal Tarot. Each full color print is handmade by Krisztin Kondor in Denver, Colorado.

Linocut printmaking is similar to the process used to create the original Tarot cards. However, rather than carving the image on wood blocks, the artist hand-carves a negative of the image into linoleum sheets.

A roller is used to apply ink to the linoleum. Paper is then placed on top of the ink, and pressure is masterfully applied by hand. A different linoleum sheet must be created for each color in the final print. Each color must be applied separately and requires perfect alignment.

Since each print must be dry before the next color is applied, this precision process takes over a week to complete. To guarantee the highest image quality, this first edition is limited to only 25 prints.

We recommend a frame with museum glass and archival-quality backing.

  • The size is A3 - 11-3/4” x 16-1/2”
  • Linocut print on archival paper.
  • High-quality ink with excellent lightfastness.
  • Numbered on the back of the print.
  • Ships in a protective tube.
