Each of the card images in award-winning comic artist Jesse Lonergan's Unveiled Tarot is a picture within a picture, emphasizing the multifaceted archetypes that animate all tarot decks and providing fascinating and nuanced readings.

The 78 cards of the traditional tarot are all about understanding the many-layered aspects of the archetypes that animate life: The Hanged Man, which may appear to depict a figure imprisoned but is in fact a card of often self-imposed contemplation; The Fool, which seems to contain harmless amusement but is in reality the powerful force of complete openness and ignorance—the naivete of a person about to do great good, or great harm.

Jesse Lonergan's gorgeously rendered Unveiled Tarot provides a peek behind the curtain on cards readers think they may know, but are always in the process of discovering. The art encourages thoughtful analysis of individual cards and nuanced readings that ground us in the amazing complexity of life, where there are innumerable ways to interpret even the most basic human trait. With humor, heart, and his award-winning style, Jesse Lonergan gives us a deck that is equally well-situated to become a classic in the collections of casual tarot users, art lovers, and experts who wish to deepen their practice.

Love the deck not so much the book

Love the deck, don’t love some of the card descriptions in the included book. Some are too specific and weird (ten of swords in the book basically says you’ve been stabbed in the back and you have to grin and bear it. Too specific.)

I like using this deck and it has taken me down some interesting paths but I would caution beginners against relying too heavily on the accompanying booklet.

Wonderful deck!

Very, very interesting deck. RWS centered with modern scenarios embedded in the illustrations. Readings feel inspired and easy to translate. I love this deck and am so glad I have it now. Highly recommend this deck and the author/illustrator.

Great deck from a great artist.

I really like this deck! The artwork is very accessible as Jesse Lonergan has so much skill with the art that goes into the modern graphic story. I was able to connect immediately withe the meanings of the cards and I think those I read for will too.

Artisan tarot offers a great selection of decks, and The Unveiled Tarot is no exception. Quality deck in magnetic box with a hardcover guide. It shipped promptly, and was well-packaged. Very happy with this purchase and will definitely be back.
