We’re happy to introduce two new decks now available in our store: The Somnia Tarot and the Illustrated Edition of The Somnia Tarot.
These decks were created by Nicolas Bruno, who weaves together his terrifying experiences of sleep paralysis with surreal self-portraiture in a therapeutic translation of night terror to image.
His constructed worlds of uncertainty exist on a plane between waking and sleeping, where he is tormented by a physical embrace of the subconscious and its perils. Influences of 19th-century Romanticists, historical texts, occultism, and dream symbolism lace each composition with various visual dialogues of the macabre.
The Somnia Tarot is a 78-card deck that reimagines the classic Tarot through haunting photography, sculpture, costume design, and dream journal recordings. Each card tells a story, weaving together characters and symbolism from sleep paralysis to express the diverse themes in the Tarot.
After a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, these decks have become a favorite among tarot readers who want to dive into their dreams and nightmares.
