We’re excited to share that The Gentle Tarot by Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar is now in stock! This beautifully hand-drawn, 78-card deck features a blend of illustrations rooted in the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition and others arising from Mari’s intuitive, creative process.
Mari is a Rasmuson Foundation grant recipient and an Anchorage Museum Residency Fellow, with her art featured by the Alaska Humanities Forum. Based in Homer, Alaska, her indigenous heritage is Chichimeca and Wixárika from Zacatecas, Central México.
The Gentle Tarot is inspired by decolonizing the practice of tarot, compassion for mental health, and the connection to our natural environment as a source of support and meaningful relation.
This deck comes in a standard tarot size and a pocket size. You can also pick up the accompanying 336-page guidebook. It complementsThe Gentle Tarot experience and can also be used as a stand-alone tool with bibliomancy practices (flip and choose a page randomly).
