Playing Card Factory Tour

Playing Card Factory Tour

When Krisztin and I started Artisan Tarot, we had two main goals. First, we aimed to create beautiful, contemporary artwork that would resonate with readers and become cherished additions to their collections. Second, we were committed to producing decks of the highest quality, ensuring durability in real-world use.

To uphold our commitment to excellence, we recently visited our playing card printer in Taipei, Taiwan. This trip gave us invaluable insights into the printing process to ensure the highest production standards.

Our hosts were extremely kind. They gave us a tour of their entire facilities, showing each step of the process. We met their employees and saw their machines for printing, cutting, and packaging the decks.

We were beyond impressed by the meticulous attention to detail throughout the printing process. They utilize state-of-the-art offset printing presses manufactured by Heidelberg and import our premium paper from Germany.

They also gave us sample decks that showcase the various styles they can produce. We intend to incorporate some of their ideas into future releases. So, keep your eyes out for what’s to come!

Here are a few images that highlight the printing process. You can see how the ink is added to the press, how the paper is loaded into the press, how the colors are checked for accuracy, and how they make the box for our decks.

We are glad that we could visit our printer and make new friends. We are excited to continue working with them to bring you the highest quality decks on the market.

Talk with you soon,

William Rader
