Higonokami Knives from the Nagao Kanekoma Factory

Higonokami Knives from the Nagao Kanekoma Factory

I'm an everyday carry enthusiast, and one of my essential items is a dependable knife. One of my favorites, which I've carried for years, is a Higonokami, a beautifully slim, handmade Japanese knife.

The Nagao Kanekoma Factory, which makes these knives, was founded in the 1880s by Mr. Komataro Nagao in Miki City. Higonokami began as a traditional knife-making enterprise where skilled artisans hand-forged each blade. The iconic folding design emerged in 1894, featuring a distinctive "Chikiri" tail handle, which earned recognition from Crown Prince Taisho at the 1911 Kobe Export Exhibition.

Through decades of industry changes and competition from inferior imitations, Nagao Kanekoma became the sole manufacturer authorized to carry the prestigious Higonokami trademark, continuing its 140-year legacy of exceptional Japanese bladesmithing.

Last year, they launched a successful Kickstarter campaign introducing a new screw-hinged style knife. I'm so much in love with this design that I managed to track down a few to share with you.

What we have available:

10 screw-hinged knives at the original Kickstarter price
10 Aogami Warikomi pocket-size knives

Due to tariffs and shipping issues to the US, I'm not sure if or when I'll be able to get more. So, get them now while you can.

Click here to get your Higonokami knives.

I hope you'll love these knives as much as I do!
