I’m excited to share that we now have two of my favorite Alejandro Jodorowsky books in stock. The first is his popular The Way of Tarot, and the second is Psychomagic. These were two of the first books I purchased when I started reading the tarot.
In The Way of Tarot, Jodorowsky shares how he became involved with the tarot (it’s a fun story in the introduction). Then, in the book's first half, he covers the meanings behind each of the 78 cards. In the second half, he shares exercises that will strengthen your intuition and examples of how to give readings.
It’s important to note that the images and lessons in the book refer to his recreation of the Nicolas Conver Tarot, which is published by Camoin. However, most of the information can be applied to any Tarot de Marseille deck. I always recommend this book to our students to gain a more in-depth understanding of the cards.
My other favorite book is Psychomagic. This is not a book on tarot; instead, it focuses on manifesting transformations in yourself and others. This is accomplished by shamanic and genealogical principles that create a healing therapy that uses the powers of dreams, art, and theater to empower individuals to heal wounds.
The ideas are often fantastical and are quite thought-provoking. I have incorporated a few of them into my daily life and tarot practice. I’m sure you will find many interesting ideas that will also enhance your readings.
These books will be an excellent addition to your reference library. I highly recommend them for beginners or experienced students who want to deepen their understanding of the tarot and healing practices.
Happy reading,
William Rader
